Phoenix Stories

Here, the stories of the PhoenixClan members are posted. As we get new members, I will write more stories to suit their characters. If you have ideas/stories for any dragons, please comment here!

Froststar

Born as a stray Phoenix from an egg covered with frost, Froststar (known simply as Ruffle at the time) was quickly taken in by a wolf family, thinking of her as a pet bird. Quickly, though, they learned their lesson: Ruffle was a fierce Phoenix with a birth defect that caused her to quickly attack anything that moved, and had great power within her. Fearing her, they let Ruffle get first dibs on all prey they caught and treated her with respect. One day, though, a flood struck and drowned her foster family. Just when the wolves were passing into the void, Froststar suddenly swam out, and became her Jamaasian form, a leopard resembling the legendary demigod Frost. There, she saw the Mother Phoenix, the goddess of all phoenixes, chosen by Mira and Miroza themselves. Mother Phoenix, whose name was Ciel, granted her true Phoenix powers, along with ice and water ones. Ruffle felt power surging through her wings, and ascended through the heavens, flying. Just when she was enjoying herself in the clouds, Ciel told her one thing before flying into the Gates of Heaven: "Revive the long lost PhoenixClan, Ruffle, before they truly face extinction. Take over as leader... and once your nine lives are lost, maybe I will grant you rank of Mother Phoenix." With those ominous words, Ciel vanished, and Ruffle was plunging to the ground near PhoenixClan camp, where the leader, Woodstar, was dying at the claws of the malicious DragonClan. Infuriated by the pure evil of DragonClan and their ways, Ruffle was thrown into a blind fury and ripped at the dragon that had freshly killed Woodstar, killing the dragon in turn. The rest of the cowardly dragons fled, and Ruffle anointed herself leader. Fearing that just like the wolves, she would be flooded and killed, Ruffle named herself Froststar and tried to take things on in a way that wouldn't get them to flood over her. To this day, this lone phoenix searches for the last of her brood, and fights the brave and overconfident Dragonclan fiercely.

Nightwing

Nightwing is an Ice Night Phoenix, who was captured by Dragonclan when she was an egg from PhoenixClan. Her mother, Songbird, wailed as her only egg was taken, but the night silenced her as Bloodstar cut off her head and threw Songbird's remains down the slope. Raised by the deputy Silentgrass, Nightwing was led to believe that her kin was evil, and should be vanquished for everlasting peace and justice. Unfortunately, the wolf with the soul of the phoenix within her, Nightwing, believed them, and was trained like a dragon. Her claws grew sharp, her mind faster, and her muscles fine-tuned. One snowy night, Nightwing was sent out in the wild to kill her kin, and got lost as she wandered the wastelands. Soon, the icy night started to freeze the tips of her wings, and get to her heart, tainting her eyes ice blue and making her cold on the outside to others. Legends say that on the moon she was sent out on, the Moon of the Apocalypse (December), Mother Phoenix would grant the best phoenix with powers of sheer cold to protect themselves from the eventual Apocalypse. Nightwing tumbled through the blizzard for days on end, but never faced any peril, nor felt any pain in the harsh storm. One day, she found PhoenixClan, its only member left being Froststar. As soon as she saw the majestic blue phoenix, her heart started to flood with memories of the phoenixes, and at long last the phoenix learned the truth. Froststar was also glad to see a member of her kin, but alas, she wasn't ready to admit somebody with a strong dragon scent in as deputy. Nightwing, determined to prove herself to her superior, immediately started to train and get ready for the next DragonClan attack. (Ice Night Dragon)

If you ever wondered what was behind the cloak of the malicious tyrant dragon named Silentstar, silent about his past and when killing another victim... here it is. Written by Silentstar him/herself.
Silentstar                                           Inline image 1
The unlucky creature who lays there eyes on this infamous dragon are usually quite surprised by his appearance. He isn't a monstrous, scaled, black dragon, filling the nightmare of fletchlings, but is in fact a white and blue furred one, resembling more a phoenix then a dragon at times. The comparison to a phoenix is quite accurate actually.
Long ago, when the land was rid of the dragons, an ancient clan of phoenix dwelled, getting more over-confident each season, as there was nothing to threaten them. Their leader was a dashing young male by the name of Vincent; he boasted a luxurious downy coat, filled with various hues of blue and based white, the color of a freshly bloomed lily. One could compare the feel of his feathers to silk made by only the finest craters and his skill was not something to be tested. To sum things up, he was a great leader. Vincent's smooth reverberating voice would settle any dispute and for many moons he lead his clan with pride.
After a particularly fine day, not too hot and not too cold, Vincent decided to take his deputy, Awleyr, and a few of his senior warriors on a midnight hunt, a bit of a challenge as it was the night of the new moon, a night on which it wasn't only hard to see, but the opposite of the full moon, in which his clan was the most powerful. As the weakened phoenixes set of grinning slightly and chuckling amongst themselves they let out a fearsome hunting cry and each took off in different directions.
After a few hours of taking down various sized unicorns, Vincent found himself in a field full of brittle tall grass. Shivering slightly as the temperature seemed to have dropped to down below 0 and he had seen not even a single feather of his clan mates. A screech pierced the air, like a bullet through glass, as the temperature seemed to drop even lower, if that was possible. Now shaking uncontrollably Vincent stumbled through the grass, his breath coming out in ragged wisps of white, but stopped as his fine tune eyes and ears picked out something in the distance. Awleyr. Her beautiful golden plumage was heaped on the ground, unmoving, but just before he let out a shout the young leader saw it. A hulking, multi-armed, thing hovering over his beloved deputy seemingly enjoying a fresh caught snack, a phantom of sorts it seemed. Vincent squeezed his eyes shut, almost losing his own diner at the sight. When he opened them the thing was no more. Looking around warily, Vincent turned in all directions, the claws tipping the edges of his wings flexing and ready to protect himself. Then he saw a flicker of movement. It couldn't have been the thing though... Something that big can't move that quietly, right? The phoenix slowly turned around, a huge mistake, A mammoth paw wraps around the right side of his neck, sending small pulses of shock down the spine. Suddenly, four pin-points of pain appeared on the other side, sending a rancid wave of heat tickling down in between his wings. Unable to control himself, Vincent falls to the ground, the pain a dull throb as his mind glazes over, the pain but a distant memory. As the creatures presence leaves the temperature goes up ever so slightly. More screams are heard. Vincent is now the only one left alive from the patrol. Suddenly, fire seems to dance through his veins and he rolls over, trying to get free of the pain. His trance is now gone and the first dragon will now soon come to being. A cry escapes his throat as each separate vertebrae in the spine pop and begin to lengthen, breaking and stretching until it seems the spine is too big for such a small creature to hold. Muscles grow along the spine, inflating painfully like ballons as he gains ten feet in length, another five feet come into existence as a tail is formed. Animilistic growls come from his beak as he writhes on the ground in pain. His breathing gets faster, as if he can't catch his breath, and his senses sharpen, picking out each spike of pain. Claw grow into spear-tips on his feet, feeling uncomfortably heavy as they dig into the skin around his toes, which now begin to grow more small muscles, break and reshape, though still somewhat bird like. The pain stops. A tugging sensation begins at the edge of Vincent's mind and he knows it will get stronger, he won't be able to resist.
A fresh wave of pain rolls down, this time in his chest as his lungs and heart grow, but don't stop, pressing past the ribs until each one is broken, and just before it feels as if they will explode through his chest new ribs barrel forward, stretching around the larger organs. A screech of pain erupts once more as the process keeps going on. Feather's drop from his wings and they shift forward, growing stronger and take the position of arms, growing daggers as the bone splits apart, revealing fingers to hold them. New wings sprout from the agonized creature's back, bigger, stronger, and much more lethal, also tipped with spikes. As the face lengthens and the small fangs grow slowly too large for his beak, the bones are destroyed and the structure remade. By the time the pain stops Vincent is gone. Something much more sinister is now there, taking over his mind with a sharp intelligence, more so than even his former self, and strength beyond the reaches of even multiple Phoenixes. A name would eventually come to this creature. A name that would come to strike fear into the hearts of many. Silentstar. He may look different from the scaled fiends that he would find at his camp, more phoenix like, but his skin is as tough as scales, and his strength would surpass them, and eventually he would become their ageless leader.
That, is the unknown story of Silentstar, for only few beings are as ancient as he, and he prefers to keep his past hidden.

Flamefur
This enigmatic Sun Phoenix loves to find herbs, fueled by her interest in nature, the beginning of time (started with the Big Bang with Zios being the only thing created), and other supernatural events. She was born in captivity, raised by a normal Jammer who cruelly kept mythical animals in her den. One day, when the Jammer, named Rose, was locking up the den and going to sleep, the cooped up Flamefur unleashed an attack of flames and sunlight, burning Rose and stunning her enough for Flamefur to fly to freedom. If she hadn't attacked to make sure Rose didn't rein her in with a lasso, Flamefur would have been trapped in the zoo for eternity. Free from her shackles of fear, Flamefur flew in the sky, cooing and soaring through the clouds. However, when she was nearing the volcano, dark clouds settled over, and she saw a group of dragons flying in the rain, pursing a gigantic phoenix whose feathers were as lovely as roses and shimmered like the sun. Fearing for the phoenix that resembled the sun, Flamefur went into a torpedo shape, and launched herself at the dragons, scattering them. As she U-Turned back to the phoenix to escort her wherever the heck she needed to go, Mother Phoenix smiled and flashed like the moon, as it was the Moon of New Time and the frigid winter winds were still as harsh as ever.
"Why, Flamefur, you saved your goddess, the Mother Phoenix! I am grateful for your bravery and help. Follow this seagull feather to the place you belong." said Mother Phoenix, looking and sounding a LOT like Mira, which was a bit uncanny but wonderful.
A white feather fell from the sky, and drifted aimlessly in the air. Curious and full of obedience, Flamefur followed the gentle feather as it drifted over rivers and valleys. In what seemed like a minute, she saw the camp of PhoenixClan and Froststar. Flying down, Froststar seemed to see the herbal knowledge in her, and after testing her, made her medicine phoenix. To this day, Flamefur follows PhoenixClan with pride, ready at any moment to fight or heal.

And last but not least.. the story of the legendary Mother Phoenix!
Mother Phoenix
Mother Phoenix was born as Ciel into PhoenixClan back when phoenixes were named normally, millions of years ago. Ciel was a brave bird, traveling far and wide for the finest prey. She often would find fascinating things on her journeys, and brought back vivid things for her Clan, such as feathers for the fletchlings, shiny things for the mothers, and heavy stones for the males. But one day, she found something odd in Kimbara Outback: twelve scrolls in the dust! She flew down, and tugged at the scrolls in the dirt, but they wouldn't budge. She tried making a stick crowbar - no effect. She tried unrolling them - no effect. Eventually, as Ciel was giving up at getting the scrolls out, a blast of wind tore the scrolls out of their resting place, and unfurled them in her face. They were covered with glowing cyan runes, illuminating the dry region brightly. As curious as a cat, Ciel read the scrolls one by one. The first one read: "Moon of the New Time, grant me powers of time." The second read: "Moon of Love, grant me powers of emotion." The third read: "Moon of Nature, grant me powers of life." The fourth read: "Moon of Rain, grant me powers of sea." The fifth read: "Moon of Sun, grant me powers of light." The sixth read: "Moon of Fire, grant me pyrokinesis." The seventh read: "Moon of Celebration, grant me powers of joy." The eighth read: "Moon of Migration, grant me powers of guiding." The ninth read: "Moon of Harvest, grant me powers over plants." The tenth read: "Moon of Darkness, grant me powers of shadows." The eleventh read: "Moon of Falling Leaves, give me powers over seasons." The last and most cryptic read: "Moon of The Apocalypse, grant me powers to be a Savior. I will promise that I will guide all phoenixes to the very end." Ciel remembered the legends of a "chosen one" leading the phoenixes to glory, and wondered if these scrolls were ancient legends her ancestors spoke. She could almost feel the memories of their worship being reborn into her mind. As she flew back with scrolls in claws, however, she saw that a rival Clan, WoodClan, was attacking the camp, making the forest around the volcano attack the phoenixes.
"Oh no, oh no! I must help my Clan!" yelped Ciel.
Flying to WoodClan's camp, she crept up behind Argus, the dragon casting the spells, and pecked him so hard that a severe burn crept up his leg. Power flowing through her veins, Ciel somehow undid all the damage WoodClan had made, and flew back to camp. Suddenly, though, she saw that Mira herself had appeared near her leader Elpizo, and was smiling at her.
"My dear Ciel, you have read the Twelve Scrolls of Moons. I see you as a worthy legend, and deem you Mother Phoenix!" chirped the heron.
More power started to course through Ciel, and she felt the heroism and hope boil inside her, blooming into something much, much more.
"Mira, I promise I will protect all Phoenixes, enemy or not, and believe in them for all eternity." promised Ciel, now growing up to a large size. The rest of PhoenixClan watched her ascension with awe.
Mira simply smiled, and a gate of clouds opened up for Ciel, which she flew through to find a haven for all Phoenixes. To this day, she guides the worthy from her perch in the clouds, and believes in her Clan to the brim.
